This month, we're calling all queer & trans ppl of color! Let's connect with each other and carve out a space for our desires together. <3 This will be a BIPOC only space, and we will see the rest of you wonderful kinksters in July!
What do your desires feel like? Your yes and your no and your I don't know? What does hearing someone else's no feel like?
This is not primarily a sex or play party (though sexual, sensual, and erotic acts may occur), but an intimacy skill-building party. We gather to communicate our desires and our boundaries, to cultivate increased autonomy, group-level intimacy, harm reduction, consent, and other 'non-normative' relational practices. There is a political significance of coming together this way! This party is open for those on the demisexual and asexual spectrum, for those new to kink, and for anyone who wants to learn how to more authentically embody their desires and receive support. Feel free to bring your sexy desires as well as your non-sexual, your silly, your vulnerable, and your political desires.
In this space we believe in RACK - Risk Aware Consensual Kink. We prefer that you bring your most recent STI results, but no one will be turned away. Please make informed decisions and practice honesty and nonjudgment when conversing with folks about sexual health.
We encourage you to read the zine before you come, and afterwards you're welcome to host your own QDP! yippie! :_)
Here is the link to the zine: https://somefriendsinthemidwest.itch.io/queer-desire-party
If this is your first QDP, no worries 😎 Here’s some optional ideas on how to prepare:
Dress Code: Whatever you want! You can be sexy, you can be cozy, we just want you to be comfortable and open to new experiences.
Things To Bring:
Your desires!! They can be sexual, sensual, caring, or silly. Try brainstorming (ex "I want someone to brush my teeth”, “I want to do a staring contest”, “I want someone to stroke my inner thighs during the next 3 dares”) What are you craving right now?
Your favorite snacks! :3 Part of community building is eating together, and we can use snacks for both staying fed and for play!
Toys! We want this to be fun, so if there’s a stuffie you want to cuddle with, a new dildo you want to try out, or a fidget you need to stay grounded, we encourage you to bring them out!
Cuddly & sensory items! Maybe it’s your favorite blanket, maybe it’s a head scratcher, feel free to bring items that help you explore different sensations.
Essentially, we want to create a space where you can be silly, brave, hungry, and feel safe to trust the people around you to co-create your desires. Bring whatever you’d like to help make those desires happen~~ we are so excited to see you <3
