Welcome home.
Samsara Temple is built on trust, consent, curiosity, and care. This Patron Code of Conduct is our shared agreement for creating a community where everyone can explore, connect, and belong. It is how we practice the Eleven Commandments within our community.
Mission
We cultivate a community where people reconnect with themselves, each other, and the sacred through consent, embodied practice, authentic expression, and intentional relationships.
Patron Philosophy
Every patron helps shape the culture of Samsara Temple. Whether attending your first event or your hundredth, the way you engage with others helps shape the experience we create together. The following agreement exists not to limit your freedom, but to protect the conditions that allow our community to thrive.
Our Core Principles
Our community is guided by the Eleven Commandments. These principles shape how we relate to ourselves, one another, and the Temple. Together, they call us to integrity, accountability, curiosity, courageous communication, healthy boundaries, equity, belonging, and the ongoing practice of consent.

Cultivate our Culture
Above all else, remain teachable.
Approach others with curiosity rather than judgment.
Celebrate "no" as an act of self-care.
Accept feedback with grace and humility.
Respect differing experiences and perspectives.
Leave room for growth in yourself and others.
We move at the speed of trust, not the speed of urgency.
Practice Consent
Obtain enthusiastic, informed consent before any touch or interaction.
Consent may be withdrawn at any time.
Never pressure, persuade, or negotiate after a "no."
Ask questions rather than assume.
Never assume consent based on previous interactions, relationships, or invitations.
Respect the Community
Follow host and Temple Fae instructions.
Remain attentive during consent chats.
Help others feel welcome.
Honor the diversity of our community.
Receive another person's "no" with "Thank you for taking care of yourself."
Care for Yourself
Know your limits.
Stay hydrated.
Ask for help.
Step away if needed.
Participate Mindfully
Do not attend events while impaired by alcohol or other substances.
Honor the alcohol-free nature of the Temple.
If leadership believes you are unable to participate safely, you may be asked to leave for the wellbeing of the community.
Participate Authentically
Honor your own boundaries and respect the boundaries of others.
You never owe anyone conversation, touch, play, or an explanation.
Choose honest communication over people-pleasing.
Care for the Temple
Clean up after yourself.
Care for the space and everything within it.
Leave the space better than you found it.
Return borrowed items to their proper place.
Confidentiality & Privacy
Privacy is one of the ways we care for one another. All patrons are required to sign Samsara Temple's Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before participating in Temple events. This agreement helps protect the privacy, safety, and dignity of everyone in our community.
As a patron, you agree to:
Respect the confidentiality of every person who attends Samsara Temple.
Privacy extends beyond the Temple. Treat another person's story with the same care you would their body.
When in doubt, ask.
Never identify, photograph, record, or share another person's attendance, identity, scenes, conversations, or experiences without their explicit permission.
Assume that every person's presence at the Temple is private unless they choose to share it themselves.
Community Safety
The safety of our community always comes before the comfort of any individual. The following behaviors require immediate intervention by leadership:
The use of discriminatory language, slurs, symbols, or conduct based on race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, gender identity or expression, sex, sexual orientation, disability, age, or other protected characteristics.
Harassment, intimidation, threats, stalking, retaliation, or other conduct that compromises another person's safety or wellbeing.
When these behaviors are observed or credibly reported (whether at Temple or in public contexts where the conduct materially affects the safety, trust, or reputation of Samsara's community) leadership may immediately pause an individual's participation in Samsara events or community spaces while the situation is assessed.
If the behavior occurs during an event, leadership may ask the individual to leave immediately to protect the safety and wellbeing of those present.
Repair & Accountability
When harm happens, our goal is not perfection, it is accountability, repair, learning, and community safety. We recognize that mistakes, misunderstandings, and harm can occur even in communities with the best intentions. Healthy accountability asks us to hold both intent and impact while remaining committed to repair.
Intent matters. Impact matters more.
We encourage every member of our community to:
Offer sincere accountability when harm occurs, recognizing that good intentions do not erase another person's experience.
Commit to repair whenever possible through nonviolent communication, mediation, education, changed behavior, and other restorative practices.
Approach feedback and education with humility, curiosity, and a genuine willingness to grow.
Growth Through Conversation
Whenever possible, Samsara seeks growth before discipline and repair before exclusion. We believe accountability is an ongoing practice, and learning how to be in a healthy community is a lifelong process.
When concerns arise, leadership may recommend or require conversations, mediation, educational resources, facilitated dialogue, or other restorative steps intended to support growth and realignment with our community values.
Intervention may occur in the moment when immediate action is needed, or as part of an ongoing process following an incident.
The purpose of these conversations is not simply to address behavior, but to strengthen accountability, repair relationships where appropriate, and help maintain a healthy community.
Reporting Concerns
We all share responsibility for helping maintain a safe, accountable, and consent-centered community. If you witness behavior that appears inconsistent with this Code of Conduct, we encourage you to bring your concerns forward.

If there is an immediate safety concern or a situation requiring urgent attention, please notify a Temple Fae or member of leadership as soon as possible.
If your concern involves a member of leadership, please report it to another member of leadership who is not involved. If the concern involves a Founder, reports may be made directly to the Board of Directors.
Reports made in good faith will be treated seriously. Not every report will result in disciplinary action, but every report deserves thoughtful consideration.
Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern or participates in an investigation is inconsistent with Samsara's values and may result in removal from the community.
The Pause
One of the ways Samsara responds to conflict is through an intentional pause.
A pause creates space for reflection, thoughtful investigation, and decisions made with care rather than urgency. It is not intended as punishment. It is a tool that supports accountability, community safety, and fair decision-making.
A pause may include, but is not limited to:
Temporary removal from attending Samsara events
Temporary removal from Discord or other community spaces
Temporary suspension of membership or participation in community programs
Depending on the nature of the concern, pauses may range from approximately 30 to 60 days or longer if additional time is needed to complete an investigation or restorative process. Leadership will communicate the terms of any pause in writing, along with appropriate contacts for questions.
Confidentiality During a Pause
To protect everyone involved, we ask all participants to respect the confidentiality of the process while an investigation or restorative conversation is underway.
Speculation, rumor-spreading, public commentary, or attempts to influence the process can undermine trust and make meaningful resolution more difficult. We ask everyone to allow the process to unfold with patience and discretion. Continued attempts to interfere with an active process may result in additional restrictions on participation in the community.
Facility Expectations
Patrons must be at least 21 years of age to enter the Temple.
No pets, except Temple-approved service animals.
Care for every space within the Temple.
Leave the space better than you found it.
Follow all event procedures and directions from Temple Fae and leadership.
Community Member Acknowledgement
By attending Samsara Temple, I acknowledge that I have read and understand this Patron Code of Conduct. I understand that participation at Samsara Temple is a privilege, and I agree to help cultivate the kind of community described within it.
